Digital 1 SLR Course – Our Basic Digital SLR Photography Course

The Digital 1 SLR photography course is designed for photographers looking to move off Auto mode with their digital SLR. Unlike other basic camera courses we will not baffle you with geek speak and jargon – that might explain why 65% of our students are female. We aim to give you and understanding of the basic controls of your camera and to send you away empowered and enthused. You may have read the manual to your camera but if you don’t know the right question to ask how will you find the answer – this session is your solution to that problem.

The sessions are very hands on and start with a briefing on the cameras basic controls, an introduction to the theory behind exposure and then we head off for some practical hands on shooting to demonstrate everything we learned. The course will cover exposure, white balance  and exposure compensation. We also cover basic composition and photography techniques. The knowledge gained from the evenings session will enable you to go on and develop your skills further on the Digital 2 SLR course.

There is nothing like putting principles into practice in a small and friendly group with an instructor their to answer all your questions as they arise. We encourage students to ask questions throughout the sessions so we can then demonstrate on your own camera. Our photography courses are both empowering and enthusing so go ahead –  sign up and get that SLR off Program Mode and master digital photography. Students should ensure they bring a digital SLR camera or at the very least a digital compact camera capable of shooting in manual mode such as a Canon G11.

We run the Digital 1 course on an ad hoc basis in London, Reading, Bracknell, Oxford, Southampton, Portsmouth, Winchester, Basingstoke,  Newbury, Swindon and Andover. If you want us to run one specifically in your area please drop us an email.
